Visually impaired people and veterans of Finnish wars are entitled to a free HSL card. Wheelchair users do not need a ticket on HSL public transport.
If you are a full-time student, you can buy season tickets at a 45% discount using the HSL app or your HSL card. The discount does not apply to value, single and zone extension tickets.
You can activate the discount yourself in the HSL app or you can visit a service point to update the discount entitlement on your HSL card.
Children under 7 years of age do not need a ticket. Children aged between 7 and 17 years can buy tickets at a 50% discount.
School child HSL cards are for journeys to/from school. The card is issued by the child’s home municipality. For more information, contact your school secretary.
If you receive national or guarantee pension or a cash rehabilitation benefit from Kela (the Social Insurance Institution of Finland), you can buy season, value and zone extension tickets at a 50 percent discount using your personal HSL card.
Visit a service point to have the discount entitlement added to your HSL card. Please bring with you an ID document, your HSL card, a Kela national pension card or a national pension, guarantee pension or cash rehabilitation benefit certificate from Kela.
